As for the massive root ball hanging out i would recommend gradual reduction over a few year period. maybe remove 1/3 of undesired root mas on1/4 to 1/2 of a corner every year. I myself recently purchased a Bougainvillea but am not experienced with it yet (only had it a few months) so I cant say too much especially how its root/growth characteristics change when it becomes older. To be safe I would remove one third of undesired root mas of 1/4 of the root spread every year if that makes sense??
Good luck |
