Young Jade
Hi guys, Some may be slightly curious as to whose crap picture of a jade was submitted for February BTM, well wonder no more! It was my crap picture of a Jade
, I thought the shelf in one of the kitchen cupboards was a good background.... This little tree started life as a pinched tip on my Mum's 3 ft tall mature tree, it was dumped in a pot of compost along about 30 others as an experiment to see if they will root without being placed in the soil, they do, all 30 survived and carried on growing, and were forgotten about at the back of the conservatory, watered very rarely and never fed. After a 3 years they were re-discovered, and split up and the larger ones potted, the rest thrown on the compost heap, after a year of trading them for other plants in the Plant Trade Triangle on our street I was left with this one, he was twice as tall as he is now, and I went for it, hacking, chopping, and sticking him in this pot, he's put on about 3 inches of growth, and had the growing tips pinched out at every opportunity in order to create a dense canopy, I'm planning on letting him put another inch or 2 over the whole canopy before calling him finished. What do you think of him? -Matt-

I love the way Jades look, and yours is looking fantastic in my opinion. I can't wait to see yours with a few more years under its belt.
This is one of my favorite Jades I've ever ran across.... ![]()
