I'm having a problem figuring out a good watering schedule for my boxwood. From the information that I read, they do not like wet feet, and in the ground, they can go weeks without water. Mine is in a pot though, with fired clay, so I'm unsure how long to go without watering it. The usual 1-2 inches on the top should be dry? Or wait till that's dry then give it another day or so?

My soil is very free draining and I don't have it on a specific schedule nor should you. I find it impossible to over water them especially when it is hot like it has been here. I normally water all my trees every other day because by then the soil is dry and some of my other trees show signs of wilting. With your mix you should have no problems, just water it like any other tree.
