Cotoneaster project

Hi ,this is my Cotoneaster project. This is the first year of this tree being in a shallower pot, i will eventually get it into a smaller dish but this is its home for just-now.
When i had this tree in its training pot it flowered with little pink flowers then had berries but this year it did not flower at all (I recon it was because it had a severe root pruining in order to get it onto this dish then it threw a wobbler went in a huff and did not flower!!).
It has now recovered and started to produce new shoots of growth so hopefully next year it has a nice display of flowers and berries to show. Cheers Phil G.

Nice Tree Phil, I like it, to be honest though, what would you think about leaving one shoot to grow up through the canopy (Keep the canopy clipped) To thicken the trunk, this would make the tree more pleasing to the eye.

Hi Matt, thanks for the reply. That sounds a good idea to leave a shoot to grow upwards. What you dont see in the photo is that just after where you see the trunk enter the canopy is splits into 3 main branches and they curve away from each another so there isnt an actual canopy as such. what is making up the canopy is loads of little branches coming from the main 3 big branches. Your idea could be the finishing touch this tree needs eh!! cheers Phil.
