Juniper

Thought i would share my juniper. I also thought about putting it in the BOTM contest but wasnt sure about how to go about that.

anyways here she is.

I like your tree but I would like to see it in a different pot its too deep for the trunk of your juniper. Thats just my two cents.

i agree, eventually this tree will be in a much smaller/shollower container, Probally round.

this is this tree's first pot before this pot it was in a nursery container. The rootball will be reduced slowly.

to submit a tree for the BotM you simply lable the file, in this case it would be Juniper-DavidR.jpg and send it to the address in the submission thread.

Hi, David. Welcome to the forum.

Your tree looks nice and healthy, and the trunk has interesting movement. I think the jin apex looks pretty good, too.

But the trunk has almost no taper; and with no low branches, you aren't going to get any more. So my suggestion would be to thin the branching more, to create a bunjin (aka literati.)

Here's a quick virt to show the sort of look I mean. Even if you don't care for mine, it may stimulate your own thinking in new directions!
