Nice tree!

The only thing I would offer is that the first branch bothers me . . . especially the "Y" shape. It also is at a different angle than the other branches. However, it appears that it cannot be brought down at the same angle unless it is shortened. If it is a female tree, new buds won't likely be a problem in a year or two. I certainly wouldn't be hasty about removing it. At the least, it will feed the lower trunk, increasing taper. You may decide in a few years that it would look best as a jin, but I would wait to make that decision were it mine.

Nevertheless, it is an excellent start on some nice material. Thanks for showing it!

Yes, yes, yes! NICE job with that branch! Totally made the tree.

This was an excellent example of how important the first branch is in setting the tone for the rest of the tree.
