Shrimpy
Been checking the article for facts & figures,
and here's what I came up with:

According to the article, the tree was free growing in a garden
and originally measured over 5 meters in height with a base
of over 50 cm in diameter. The age mentioned is 100 years.
It was dug out 2 years prior to all this and cut back to about
just over 150 cm in height (talk about a trunk chop . . . ).
Then it was potted in a huge plastic tub (first pics) to recover.
By then the article says it weighed about 150 kgs.
By now, the final height from the rim of the pot up to
the apex is set at about 120 cm.

Wow!! Even in a picture of a picture, that's one magnificent tree. What I wouldn't give to be able to see it "in person!"

For us Yanks, it's all the more eye-catching, because yews simply don't grow as big here; something about our climate, I'm sure. A 4-meter yew is a Goliath in most of the US!

The only bonsai I know of that may be bigger is a huge old juniper that was styled by Masahiko Kimura. There was an article in Bonsai Today a few years ago. According to the article, the tree weighed one ton, the stainless-steel pot weighed a ton, and a ton of akadama was used to pot it up. A crane must be needed to move it!

Thanks for posting!

Ahh...I believe that would be Marc Noelanders and not Michel! Michel was simply reporting and posting pictures as to what Marc Noelanders did.

All
Yep I got the wrong name, thanks for pointing that out. The tree is a the work of Mr. Noelanders. And it is a work of art!
Good growing

No Paul, please . . . no . . . not again

I already got mixed up in a brawl (my own fault)
over mistaken identity a few weeks back,
so this time I made ab-sure (at least I thought I did)
that there would be no misunderstanding in regards
of the creators' identity, and then this . . .

Thanks for the skills You accredite me with (God, if only !),
but plain fact is that I probably wouldn't know where
to begin with a giant tree like that.

Marc on the other hand truly has an amazing gift, and it's a real
privilege to be a whitness of that, time and again.
Even when pretty much having an idea of what he's capable of,
he still regularly surprises and astonishes us all with his genius.
