seeking stlye advice & tree ID confirmation
I'm trying to attach the photos as thumbnails, but i can't. there is a copy of this post with thumbnails in the "beginners " forum Hiya! This is a new tree from a local nursery it was in with a dozen or so similar trees some with the tag 'Bahama' or 'Barbados Cherry'. 1) Is this the proper ID? what's the scientific name? 2) It has little "hairs" on each leaf (3rd photo) that come off easily. Is this natural? a sign of fungus or pest? or just a greenhouse condition that will go away with time in a new environment? 3) Are those little buds in the 4th photo new growth, flower buds, cherries? 4)Lotsa moss (yay! 'cuz Im luckless growing it from spores). Is that tan fuzzy stuff on the trunk moss?...do you see anything in the dirt to eradicate? Thankfully I havn't seen any gnats or bugs from this pot. 5) Style advice-please offer- I know it has a broken branch (middle of the first picture)but it is still rather well attached and I like the tree's form. Plus it was only 5 bucks. Last edited by mage973; 03-23-2011 at 05:46 PM.. Reason: deails |
