What kind of tree is this?:S

Hi,
I bought seeds for a River Oak, Casuariana Cunninghamiana.

The tree is supposed to have needles, not leafs. So I wonder what this is...

And while I'm at it, should i cut the newest leaf to make it slow down in growth?

Thanks!

That looks like some sort of mallow or hibiscus relative. I'd say your seeds got mislabeled!

Probably a tropical. Beautiful blossoms!

Cutting off a few leaves will slow it down for a little while. It will also encourage branching, I expect. Cut thru the petioles (leaf stems) if you do remove some leaves.

I do not know what is. I do know what it is not, and that is a Casuarina, of any description.

Cheers Pup

Yeah, I second treebeard's opinion that its something that's in the hibiscus family. Definitely not a casaurina!
