Update on 1st annual bonsai contest boxwood
Hi all, I can't find the 1st annual Spring styling contest on here anymore so I found my first pic to show you an update on how my boxwood has grown in 2 years. If there's anybody else that still is around with trees from the first competition, take some pictures and post them!
As you can see by the pic from 2 years ago, she was pretty sparse on the foliage but had good bones. Mary B. Last edited by M.B.; 03-22-2010 at 09:06 PM.. |

And 2 years later things are looking pretty good. Filling out nicely. I just repotted about 3 weeks ago from the 5 gallon container and it EXPLODED in growth so much I had to trim some growth back yesterday.
I discovered this had been grown in the ground for awhile because inside the 5 gallon can was a root ball in clay and rock. It was horrid to chop the thick roots (they are as hard as a rock!) and coupled with the clay and rock mess, well I won't be repotting this any time soon just because of the bad memories. Mary B. |

Well MB it certainly looks vigourously healthy. At least at its next repotting things will go much easier. I am looking forward to seeing how it progresses.

Looking Good MB.
Chicken Manure Pellets get Buxus to pump out growth, with the high Nitrogen, this should help speed its establishment up a bit ![]() -Matt-
