Has anyone here sucessfully air layered a ginko? I just got a nice one. About 5 ft tall 1 and a quarter base with a little taper down low. Some nice branching and a good spot to chop it about 10 inches from the bottom. Not quite a chop, actually the trunk splits, the larger one comprises about 3/4 of the upper foliage and I will remove this and keep the 1/4 percent as the new apex. Dont want to just trow all that away. I wont cut it off until late winter or early spring so the way I see it what have I got to lose by attempting a layer now. Any commentary is appreciated. thanks, Jim C
