Bougainvillea Layer

I am attempting a layer on an older bougainvillea I have. This thing tends to grow about a foot a year so maybe it will be a supplier for a few in the next few years. Would love to trade a nice healthy piece for a nice maple or something similar. Anyways, I started it 2 weeks ago and here is a pic. Will attempt to keep this updated as it goes. The tree above the layer is about 2.5 inches in diameter and 16 inches tall.

Hi Ergantos, that looks a good start to a nice tree hope it works for you. Is the flowers in the bottom left of the picture part of this tree? will you have these on your airlayer? would look nice if it did have the flowers. cheers Phil G.

The lower left is a bleeding heart vine. The tree itself has really deep fusia flowers. I like it because it is something you dont see a lot of in bonsai. I am really looking forward to this project. These are the actual flowers now.
