striking roots

on average how long will it take to strike roots on a brush cherry, or any non conifer tree for that matter. i know conifers take quite a long time.

i'm not positive, but it seems that my cherry is putting out new growth. could that be just due to it still getting water? i mist it every other day, and she's in a humidity dome with a heat mat set at roughly 82.

well it seems it takes around 2 weeks, or less to strike roots on my cherry cutting. it was a very large cutting as well. almost 1/4'" trunk, and a ball of foliage bigger than a softball. there is almost 2" of trunk in the perlite as well. i wonder how much rooting is going on down the trunk? seems to be still putting out new growth as well. this cutting is doing really well it seems

you can see the pink/white roots coming off the trunk in the full pics, but even better in the crops. i'm hoping that in 2 more weeks it will have even longer roots. maybe in yet another month from that i can bring her out of the grow house.

i need to read more on bringing trees out of a humidity dome to normal room conditions. anyone have any advice?

Hi
Yes got you now sorry just put it down to old age a senior moment
First switch off your heaters then start to crack the lid open untill they reach room temperature thats what I do anyway you could if possible try to dry off the plastic cover this might help

i keep water on the bottom of the pan to keep the humidity up. especially on large cuttings like the brush cherry is. i think they will be in there for 2 more weeks. i'd like to get as much rooting as possible before it comes out.

do you wait till they are at room temp then just bring them out, or do you try to bring down the humidity then bring them out?

rooting cuttings

I can only tell you what I do First lower the heating on the thermostat over a few days then start to crack the lid open letting in the outside air a bit at a time the humidity should come down with the temp as it reaches the same temp inside as outside sorry about the spelling
