Crazy pots for gloomy days

Hi,

given the dark and gloomy days we have I have been playing - a bit too much ? - with forms and coloured glazes. The kidney shaped pot is for a tree the others are all for accent plants...

You are getting very good and creative Ravenna. I do like them, however there is always a but or however, where Bonsai is concerned I do find the Red one to be a bit bright for MY taste. The pot I like. Thank you for posting. Pup

Well, I am very pleased that you like the pots though your praise makes me blush. I am still not where I would like to get with my pots but slowly, very slowly I feel it is improving a bit. So feedback (and that includes critical remarks) is always welcome.

@Pup: I agree with your comment regarding the red pots. When I saw the red glaze though I couldn't resist the idea using that red glaze on the dark brown nearly black clay and to try to get those black rims (which luckily worked out).

I don't think that you can use them as accents beside a tree but you can also grow accents on their own and that is what I thought I would do with these.

Yet another awesome batch Ravenna! I especially like the 2nd to last one, the grey round one, it makes me think of a spiral staircase in a castle tower... , (too many Medieval Novels on my behalf).

The red one Is a little bright, but I imagine that with a nice tufty grass of some sort in it, trailing over the edges it will soften the colour.

Very, very good work Ravenna! Getting ready to put my order in now.

Thank you very much for your kind words.

Actually the spiral one is meant to be a bit like a little wall though I didn't think of staircase. So it is not your medieval novels which lead you astray...

You may be right though I suspect it will always be too bright to use it as an accent with a tree in a show. But at least I will be able to see it even at night on my balcony...
