Next batch "kusamono"

Hi,

just wanted to show you my new batch of pots. This time I had a go at kusamono pots. I fear they turned out to be mostly very "unjapanese" but I really loved those stamps my teacher has and I couldn't resist.

Well, let me know what you think.

I really like the Second one, and the last two! The colour of the first one intrigues me, can we have a photo from further away, so we can see the whole pot?
Not too Keen on the Third one, I like the Flower and leaves on the front and the colour, but the shape puts me off.
However, I will find room and trees for all 5 pots should you wish to part with them.

I'll email you my address and pay for the postage. You have way too many pots now and your going to need some room for others!

All worthy efforts, but the last two please my eye the most. I see a little 'blue mouse ear' hosta in #4.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi, glad you like them. I must say I quite like them myself even if they are probably not "typical" pots given those stamps I used but I stumbled across them during my potters class and could not resist.

I don't really have a pic of the blue pot further away but I have one from a different angle. It is rather difficult to get that weird colour right but here is an approximation. Otherwise I will have to take another pic.

hmm... Phil you want to pay just for the postage... given those worthy "works of art"?

Very, very nice work! indeed! can we get sizes, so our orders can be sent? The last 2 are unique, the first 3 deserve nice plants.

Hi, thank you Jim. Glad you like them... Actually one of them is already "spoken for" by a bonsai friend I have known for ages but whom I only met last week-end when there was meeting arranged by the German bonsai forum (am I allowed to mention that here???? ). It is the payment that she let me sleep in her tent... In case you guys are interested: Walter Pall is showing some pics of the meeting and workshops there. He and Martin Sturm diskussed my azalea (it is the one in neagari style on his blog) and then I went on to work on it in the workshop with Martin Sturm.

The week-end was really nice but rather exhausting as it was a long trip. As regards your "orders"... may be wait a little bit... my teacher suggested that I should start selling some of my pottery. In case someone really is interested and I'm really going to start selling pottery then I could try and show pics of them on the market-place. As to you "personally" Jim, may be send me a pm if you really think you would like to have one, and tell me what you are interested in and even IF it should be one of those I want to keep or not the size you want then I am quite happy to make one for you. If you think that is not "your kind of thing" after all, that is okay for me too. I am quite happy to keep them... Sizewise: Diameter for the round ones is roughly 6 cm, for the oblong one the sizes are about 15x 6cm with corners without about 12x3cm.

Hi, hmm... seems like I have really scared you guys now... but I hope you realize that it would turn out to be rather expensive for me to make those pots without charging a little bit for clay and the fact that I have to pay for the time I am working on those pots during my classes instead of making something for myself. So, sorry if you guys are disappointed.

Ravenna, you most surely should be compensated, and compensated well, for your pots. I suspect this could move from a hobby to a business should you choose to presue the idea. For now a price range to cover your materials and the classes (Ok and maybe a new tree) would be a good start, but in the future they should help off-set your addiction.

Whoops... so much for not giving away the pots ... Three out of five are gone already...(only the blue and the green one left) I think I need a better "business strategy" I am curious... someone even wants to use one of the pots for an exhibition: wondering whether he will really actually do that...
