I think it's excellent for a first try.

If I can make you feel even more guilty than jim has, maybe you can send any of these pots to me : France is closer to where you live, and I could even pay for the shipping costs

Keep on the good work!

Revenna, if you want, take a sander to those feet. Shave em down and make em round.

Hi Tom,

I don't know whether a sander is a machine but in the course I was told the same but we had just sand paper and I sanded and sanded and... and still they looked the same... I feel I have to make the shorter straight away rather than later.

@ Alain (But still pleased that you like them... )

Ravenna, there is nothing wrong with the legs on that pot. I have many pots which stand higher.

What a contrast... some offer to pay for them and you want me to pay YOU if you take them... I appreciate your honesty Grumps but IF I should give them away I think the deal would be "slightly" better if I gave them to Tom who even wanted to pay for them or even give them away for free but this.... nononono....

You guys have got me wondering... I don't know whether you are all just being very kind or whether you actually really do like the pots but in case you do I might try to make a pot for this years contest (possibly the punishment for the looser??? )

I will have to sort out with my teacher whether she thinks that that is possible given the frequency of the firings. And I guess in the meantime you can discreetly let Phil know whether you would actually like that as a prize or whether that would rather put you off participating in the contest without having to worry that you might my feelings as an "artist"...

Phil can tell me then whether he is actually looking for prizes or whether had something completely different in mind anyway.... (see how I give guys a HUGE loophole to get out of this without having to contradict yourselves or having to worry about offending me???? )

I think everyone's being genuine Ravenna,

I wasn't going to enter a tree this year, but if a member made pot is one of the prizes I think I may reconsider! if you can make it so that its about 3 foot long and 1 foot wide, in a oval with a dull light brown glaze and about an inch deep

I really like the first one you posted, I think I might cut down the neighbours Japanese maple and make it into a small tree. Then when I kindly take the pot off your hands I will have a tree for it
