Stands, Tables

Hi All
For a long time I have admired certain stands or tables, whatever the correct phrase is. BTW perhaps someone can clear this up for me, is it stand, or table?
In the last few weeks I have constructed two, that were inspired by others seen pictured on the internet. The light colored one is constructed from plywood and covered with bird’s eye maple veneer. The darker one is solid wood on the sides with a plywood top covered in elm burl veneer.
Good growing
Paul

Good job on both of them, they're really nice. As for the 'stand' or 'table' - I think that's like the is it a 'grove' or a 'forest' debate. Different people will call it different things, and yet all know what the other is talking about.

Hi Centaura
Thanks for the complement, I value your opinion. I suspect that you are correct in the table / stand question.

I always refer to them as stands. Thats just me. Love your work. I love birds eye maple and quilted maple. Thuya burl would look nice for a stand.Keep em coming. Love your styles.

Hi Paul
Very nice work on the stands, can you please post some pics of the stands with some trees on them I think that would really set them off.

Stands

Hi Jabacoomba
Thanks for the good words. To be perfectly honest I had to look up Thuya. Now that I've seen some pix it looks very interesting, perhaps I'll try and get some.

Thanks Paul. I Had a bass guitar made for me 2 years ago. The top is Thuya with an inlaid figured maple pickgaurd. I will try to post a pic if I can find one on this computer(my girlfriends). The thing about using Thuya is the sanding can be messy and it gets sticky. Love the smell of it too.

Hi jbacoomba
They are out of sight! Showing my age there, but as my grand kids might say, sick!! Back in the day I met a guy who wanted me to help him produce custom guitars, but in this case the were made of aluminun.
