Looking for stand suggestions

I am looking for suggestions for a stand for a natal plum that I have. Its one of my favorite trees and I would like to show it better. Anyone have any good suggestions for what type of stand would suite it best? I've attached a photo of it, it needs a trim in this shot, but you can get an idea of its shape.

either one of these are pretty simple to make. I believe the first to be an Al Keppler original.

I like the look of that first one you show, and I think I could make something like it. It'd be interesting to try making, at least. Are there any good ratios that folks can reccommend for stand size verses pot width and tree height?

Height I wouldn't go more than thickness of the pot, 2" larger than your pot all around for the top. Having said that, if you are not displaying the tree than what ever is aesthetically pleasing to you.

Thanks for the info. Right now its looking like the tree will be in three shows this summer, at least one of which will be judged. So I really appreciate the advice, as I want it to look its best.

Not my work Phil. I'm not really into a native American motif. These are made by Jim's Woodworks.

Thanks for the clarification Al, I've added it to memory along with a bookmark of his site.

BTW I couldn't get your link to work. This one does.
