Very nice, Paul. And a welcome sight for us northern Yanks. Around here (approximately 120 miles from Chicago) the only woody plant in bloom is forsythia, tho some early crabapples are getting ready to make their annual debut.

Thanks very much for the response to the posting, at the moment all the blossom has blown of the tree so its another twelve months before it appears again.
But come the warmer, lighter days there will be plenty more to photograph in the form of Roses, Lilies, etc.
I have a few trees to pot up so they will be photographed as well.

Best regards BD Paul

And i bet you will be surprised what you can pick up in one, we have boot sales over here, normally in car parks, and i have picked up pots there of all different sizes.
That reminds me i must start to look for some more soon.

It took me a moment to figure out "boot sale," but the reference to "car parks" helped the penny drop. ("Car parks" I'm familiar with, both as a phrase and from using them in Ireland.)

I've never found any bonsai pots at a garage sale. Bonsai still isn't that well known over here, believe it or not.

Remember that our little country will fit into one of your states, and still have plenty of room left.
And we have a small population compared to the USA, but i was lucky on that one occasion to get eight pots, in varying sizes for around $7.00 US.

The thing is that you never know what you will see by going to one, and one day you could strike it lucky.

Yes, one does never know.

As for scale, I was thrown off by it on our first visit to Ireland. I remember looking at the map on our third day, and thinking that we were going to try to drive half-way across a whole country in one day -- and then it took all of 3 hours, even with unfamiliar circumstances and blundering onto an artillery range! The perspective is of necessity different.

Apart from the motorways/freeways, we have very narrow roads when you get out in the countryside, and a lot of slow driving is needed, but who wants to drive fast on holidays.
Some are so narrow that only one car can pass at a time, and every so often a little pull in is made available to allow cars to pass each other.
Normally you find these Lane ways near small coastal villages, or around farming areas.

Rather quaint country lane ways!.

Sounds like Ireland! And it reminded me, when we were there, of the roads in the more remote parts of Ecuador when I was a boy.

Now you're making me miss the Emerald Isle!
