It is flowering well at the moment so i will not fert it, but what to do when its not in flower. How do you propagate it?. Best regards BD Paul

Hi Bonsaidad
These little plants are great for that essential winter colour, For care, can be grown indoors in cool rooms such as unheated conservatory's, outdoors fairly hardy, but can be damaged by the worst frosts, so somewhere sheltered is necessary. They prefer to be watered from below, so put the pot on capillary matting to water, if the leaves, corm or flowers get wet they are prone to grey rots / Botrytis so try and shelter them. When deadheading / removing dead leaves ensure you remove the stalks all the way down to the corm otherwise rot can spread into it. Summer care, they should keep their leaves until the earliest March, they then will die down and finish ripening their seeds off (little brown balls containing the seeds attached to the plant on curly stems), you could lift them at this point and store them until late summer when you replant them, or just keep them moist not wet in the pot. Propagation, seed can be rather fiddly and you're waiting on 2 years minimum before flowers, or you can divide the corm into 4 quarters just before you replant them in late summer as said before. Hope this helps. -Matt-

Mini Cyclamen
Thanks guys for the information on this plant, i absolutely love the color on the blooms, and brighten up things at a gloomy time of year.
As to propagating through seeds, i think i will give that a miss, but i will read up on the other info you have given me. although its called a Mini Cyclamen its still quite tall, and would have to be incorporated into a display with a large bonsai specimen. Best regards BD Paul

Mini Cyclamen
Having read the article on the Cyclamen, i have come to the conclusion that all the fuss is just not worth it, what with them selling for just £1.50 UK, $3.00 US.
I will probably buy a few more for inside the house, and just treat this one as a accent plant, and wait until my trees get large enough for display, or i get lucky with the big air layer i intend to try. Best regards BD paul
