Problem with Azalea
This year, when all of the flowering wonders came out in the local Walmart nursery I decided I'd try growing an Azalea.
It came in a 2 gallon nursery pot, so I repotted it into a bigger pot once the flowers died off. The leaves were fine for a long time, and it was producing new bright green leaves.. and then I think I either over-watered it or didn't water it enough... and the leaves started to droop, then turned brown.. then fell off. Now it's a little stick poking out of a large green plastic pot. The 'trunk' of the tree is still alive, as I chipped the bark just a little, and it showed green.. it just has no leaves. It's had no leaves for months and I'm not sure what to do. I've gone from taking it out of it's pot, loosening the root ball, and repotting it to spreading perilite(sp) over the surface of the potting mix- as I do not have any mulch. I recently purchased shultz root stimulator, and have thought that perhaps I should put it back in it's original pot? Any ideas on what I should do here? Edit: It's an Encore Azalea btw. |
