The picture is of a 75 year old (supposedly) Japanese Five Needle Black Pine / Pinus parviflora, 31 inches and is currently for sale at a bonsai nursery. Some of you may have possibly seen this tree already and know of the nursery. For those that already know this tree please let others have a guess at the price.
HINT: It cost more than a gallon of Superthrive but is less than a new Hyundai Accent GS Base.
Whoever guesses the closest to the price gets to buy this for me for Christmas and I’ll pay for the shipping.

Merry Christmas, Phil

Hey...I gave it my best shot! After all, I'm poor.
Nah, it's just for fun. Just would like to see what people would guess as to the going price for this specimen.

A well-developed JBP? Probably in the $9,000 to $11,000 range, though that is a rough guess and no way an indication that I want to join the "contest".

Yeah, I was curious how many replies he expected with that line.

Ah, not to be picky or anything but I've never heard of a five needle black pine. Isn't it either a five needle white pine or a black pine, which are two needle pine?

Good point although I'm only giving the description as to how it is advertised.
Pines are certainly not my forte and as far as I know a Pinus parviflora is a white pine. Anyone care to take up this possible discrepancy in nomenclature?

Yes, P. parviflora is a white (or five-needle) pine.

I'd say there was a typo somewhere.

Maybe I'm more Scottish than Centaura; I'd guess $6000.

Whoops! Yes, there was indeed a typo......on MY part!
It's simply labeled as a Japanese Five Needle Pine.
It seems as though I was looking at some black pines also and for some reason the word "black" stuck in my head as I typed out the name.
