Nandina Domestica

Hi
If I Chop a half inch trunk of a Nandina (Sacred Bamboo) with no low branches to Create a Shohin will the Nandina throw out new shoots and what is the best time to do this

Hey,
Well Im in Texas and after this summer my Nanadina was all dried out , so I just cut it back in hopes it will sprout back. I'll keep you posted.

I don't have Nandina myself, but I've seen them with some branching. I assume they respond to a chop by throwing new shoots. For what it's worth, I'd do it if it were mine.

I'd wait until spring to do it, tho.
