Pinching evergreens
My Boulevard and Hinoki Cypress got away from me a bit at the end of the season. Is it still ok to pinch back at this time of year? Wiring is ok I think. I am in central Virginia and it's still quite mild (we have had very light frosts).

Sorry for not getting around to it before, I have had limited internet access, as far as I can see there should not be a problem with pinching them out now, as they are evergreen there will always be fluids flowing throughout the plant, so the tree should be able to block the wounds quite happily.
Given that I would try to avoid doing it in the dead of winter. -Matt-
