Large Ceder Still Alive but dunno what do to with it

I posted pics of this guy around 2 or 3 years ago on the old site. I wasnt sure it would even live. Long story short, dad was gonna chop it down, so i saved it and put it in a pot. It has 3 trunks, and i'm sure it would make an amazing bonsai in the right hands. Unfortunatly it has mine. So, some suggestions would be great. I've included a picture of what i believe should be the front, then some closeups of the trunk, and a pic of where i chopped it.

Its great to see this tree made it. I remember the long thread about trying to find it's true identity . I'm not exactly sure where I'd take this tree although I think I would keep it pretty tall...making one tall trunk and the other two slightly smaller. Maybe better pics like Ant suggested could help.

thank you for the interest. I sat down on the porch and took some pictures straight on of the tree from 4 different angles.

btw you will notice a little more of a "tilt" on it today. I came home today and I belive a dog must have knocked it over. All of my other trees were safe, this one was on its side, and coming out of the pot. I'm sure it'll be ok, if it survived me it'll survive that fine lol

few questions;
are these cedars or cypress? if cedar, what kind?
are they 3 trunks belonging to 1 roots or 3 seperate trees?
how tall are these trunks and wide are the individual base's on average?

Here is my idea, while it is not the "front" as I would like to choose, the shape and openness would work well in the round. For a front I would like to be able to see all three trunks appearing to be a cluster.

A lot of work with wire would be needed, coupled with some judicous pruningm to achieve this look.
