Hello here's a juniper I reduced in size
Hello all I'm relatively new to bonsai forums but not bonsai. I 've been doing bonsai since I was 10 and I'm over 50 now. If any body is in the Los Angeles area stop by and say hello, check link in my signature for address.
Anyhow here is a CA Juniper I made a 12" height reduction on. What do you all think? Before the work ![]() Decision made ![]() After trimming and wiring ![]()

Welcome Bonsaipb. A very interesting tree, do you have any pictures of its progression? or plans for its future?

No earlier photo's others on it progression are in my blog that you can access through my signature.
Next spring I'll repot it maybe into a different pot and raise it towards the left slightly. I'll keep the foliage less dense than it has been, since to me such dense foliage doesn't make sense on a tree with so much deadwood. I'm open to suggestion as to a new pot.

Very nice! I like the lean--hope you don't raise it too much. The lean is what sets it apart IMO. I'll have to think about the pot. Thanks for posting!
