air layering

air layering

Hey everyone, first time posting here!
Im just wondering how long it would take to air layer a japenese maple, and secondly a spuce tree?

The maple should have good roots by the end of the grow season. Spruce on the other hand often take 2 years.

how long would you think the growing season is? 8 weeks?

We live in similar zones, so your grow season should be early May through late September. 5 month or so should be long enough to get roots to form. Remembe the roots on it will be very tender and will need protection during the winter.
