What can i say to you?
A new white carpet, bad bad boy,
I did read somewhere if you pour red wine on a new stain it removes it, ain't sure if that is BS or not?
So far i have escaped any major traumas, was expecting some probs. at New Year, but the day is young, give it another 7 days and i should be okay. Cheers.

Hi,

Well,
I wouldn't call it a blooper, rather a bummer . . .

At Christmas day, we had my father, my brother,
my sister-in-law and their son (my godson) Oliver over
for dinner and gifts.
Bro and his wife were both quite flu-stricken,
but we didn't let that spoil the party

. . . shoulda known better . . .

Result one week later: My wife spent NYs'-eve
in bed being sick as a parrot, whilst I ate, drank
(great wine though; a St-Emilion '96 I dug up from my cellar)
and afterward, watched one of the DVD gifts I got last week,
in near solitude.

I wasn't completely alone though:
Apart from my regular checkup on Gerda in the bedroom,
I found next to me on the couch, all rolled up:
Our 2 dogs, celebrating NYs' eve in their own fashion:
sleeping, lay-abouting and begging for attention and crackers
(or crackers and attention; I don't know what comes first).

Bad start of the year, but that dosn't necessarily mean
that the rest of it will go equally bad . . .

Cheers,

White wine will indeed remove a red wine stain. You need to blotch not rub. Long process yarn....

Or just drink enough wine, at some point you will forget the stain is there.

OK. I have my options boiled down to:

A) Replace the carpet.

B) Waste perfectly good rum.

Hmmmm....

Centaura--Does your mom live in Minnesota? I was in Minneapolis the weekend before Xmas. Drove home on Sunday through the blizzard. Loved every minute of it.
No, we're from MN but I just moved her to NC about two years ago, and she just finished building a house there about three months ago. Up a mountain - great yamadori oppurtunities.

Yeah, we've just had two days of snow. Lots of shoveling; my driveway is 115ft (35m) long, and me and my roommate are responsible for snow removal on a good portion of a city block downtown (around where we work). We didn't ring in the new year, we shoveled it in.
