Hello from the new guy

Hello everyone, My name is David as you might have guessed. I would like to say hello and thank you for haveing me on your forums.

I used to frequent BT, But have been without internet for a while and it seems BT is no longer running, so i figured it was time to join a new comunity. I noticed a few members from here that i remember from BT so some of you may remember me. I went by DCLXVI on BT

A little about myself, Im 25, Married, With a 2 year old daughter. I live in Northern Idaho, USA. Zone 6. I am a custom picture framer in my day job, and also going back to school full time in the fall for Journalism. Im fairly new to the hobby, I started in the hobby last spring so a little over a year now.

Anyways seems like a nice site, is it fairly new by chance? i dont remember seeing it when i last had internet.

Thankd for haveing me.

Welcome aboard David. The site is about 1 1/2 years old and is an offshoot of Bonsaichat.org. When BCO went down I then started this site and we have many of the previous members here from that site.

It is indeed a very friendly site which which is open to all be they new to bonsai or crusty old veterans to the art. I no longer have any idea what is going on with BT as it has been down for about 2 months now. I know that Matt (the admin.) was having server problems due to a large overload and wanted to be extremely careful of not losing anything in the transition to a new server but I can't see how it could possibly take all this time! Having said that I do however wish him the best of luck with it. I'll admit that it's nice to gain some members here from BT but at the same time I truly hate to see such problems encountered. If it should happen to get going again I sincerely hope that you'll stick around or at least pay a visit here very so often and the same applies to all the other BT refugee's!

"Crusty..." Hmm. I thought it was just that hitting 55 meant I qualified for a GOA license -- "Grumpy Old Man."

Lest I forget -- welcome from me too.
