Spring comes a little earlier for you on the other side of the pond, doesn't it? We've noticed that on our visits to Ireland.

Around here the first bulb spears are showing above ground, and the privets show a tantalizing impression of green; but nothing's in bloom yet, and overnite lows still go below freezing.

Enjoy!

Spring is definitely in full swing around here! Daffodils in full bloom, the cherries are coming out, the works! Brilliantly warm and sunny today! Love spring!

Treebeard, we still get the occasional frost, not normally heavy ones, unless theres a cold snap, which is the norm when the Magnolias are in flower , You wait all year, all through the winter, then as soon as they open... BAM its a frost and they turn brown!

Thanks for the pictures, BD. We look forward to more of them.

Matt, the funny thing is that, if anything, we're closer to the equator than you are. But we're more than 1000 Km from the nearest ocean, with low mountains (Appalachians) between; and you have the moderating influence of the Gulf Stream. I remember being astounded to see Beaucarnia growing happily in the ground in western Ireland.

Complex thing, climate.

Spring is here in Bama ! All my trees under the carport have open buds or small buds starting to open. I was going to move them out 2 weeks ago and we had a couple of almost freezing nights so I left them in. This past weekend the lows were 48F, my plan was to move them but it was raining the entire weekend. Didn't want to throw them into that the first night out. I did notice them temperature on this site the other night...21F ...we had 55F same night. It is really a fun time for playing with the trees.

I was able to take a photo of the plum flower in full bloom as they have really started to open up now.
I am surprised how much bloom it has for the first time, and of course as the tree gets bigger, even more bloom will appear.
I will be taking it out of the ground in about four years, and start to train it ready for the move to a small pot.
