Talking special thanks re Prowler

Hi i am Prowlers son Phil. I want to say thanks to all of my dads friends from this site (you know who you are!) for all the nice things that you have said about his passing away. I have been reading some of the comments and threads that is on this site and i am happy to see he was well liked as he was a big pain in the ass and a bit of a moaning git but that is what we loved about him!!!!
Im sure he would have been really happy to see that people did listen to him as we his long suffering family didnt!!
I know he will miss you all because he did speak about this site as his first home with his beast friends speaking about his favorite hobby. So thanks from me, Mrs P, and his 2 daughters Donna and Laura. Cheers fae bonnie Scotland.

Phil

i'm so sorry for your loss. your dad was a great guy, and friend to all of us here. true he was a bit grumpy, but that mad him all the more special. we all knew that really wasn't him. i had a heavy heart when i read of his passing. i know he went to a better place, and in due time i'll finally get to meet him face to face.

he will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. i hope the empty spot in your heart mends quickly. soon enough you too will ounce again see, and hug him again.

please give all the members of your family a hug for me, and tell them i may not be blood family, but yer dad felt like family to me, and everyone here.

Jerry

You know, Phil, I can tell from your message that a piece of your father lives on in you--I can hear him speaking through your words. That's actually a very nice and comforting thought. Though we here are all still mourning his passing, I know you must be all the more so. Losing his father is a very difficult thing for a son to go through. Please know that you and your family have been, and will continue to be in my prayers.

My deepest feelings goes to you in the demise of your father. I never met Prowler personally. He was a presence in this bonsai community. Passing away during Holidays seems to be harder. Be proud of him. He left a lot of friends behind. Learn from him. Your response tells something about you too. My condolences to the rest of the family. Tell them how many friends from all over the world are mourning your father right now.

Aye he is missed, he brought balance to the site in a grounding kind of way. I used to call him Grumpy as a term of endearment. Another great Scot departed but never forgotten.

Dear Phil

It is very kind of you to take the time to leave a message on our site and think about us at this difficult time.

Victor spoke about you and his family a lot when we talked on the phone, and so we feel that we know you a little bit, and are with you in this moment of sorrow.

You and your family will certainly be in my thoughts tomorrow (Christmas Day) but especially on December 31st..... when I will celebrate Victor's birthday!!

All the very best!!

Never too late...

Hi Phil,

I just discovered this thread today, and I decided it was never too late to honor your father. Yes, he was a bit crusty around the edges, but that was one of his endearing qualities. To me, he was all bark and no bite and I reminded him of that often.

The "seniors" around here including me, go back at least 5-6 yrs and to 2 other sites. Your father was one of us. He and I used to talk for hours each week on Google talk. He had such a sense of humor and all the laughter helped lighten my load of worries.

Yes, I think Scott is right, I too see some of his qualities in you. He will always be with you and live on in your heart and mind. Your father was a good man and you will be able to honor him by living as he taught you.

May you and your family find comfort during this time of sorrow. The site isn't the same without him. He is sorely missed.....
