My wandering mind bumped into a certain fact the other day.
No matter who wins the upcoming presidential election in the USA, we Yanks are about to elect a "first." Either we will elect our first black President, or we will elect our first female Vice-President. Thoughts, profound or otherwise?

In case that sounds like I plan to vote for McCain, I'm still weighing the strengths and weaknesses of each man. Much to the frustration of my 8-year-old, BTW, who wants to be sure her Daddy is going to vote for Obama! But this is too important a duty to rush.

I’ll have to grant that this is one election on which I feel there will be a large turnout.
A black president, female vice president etc. Suffice to say that there are more than enough political opinions on this election and the somewhat perceived biased coverage of the media. However, I feel that this is not the proper venue to discuss politics and is stated as such in the “Forum Rules”; 4. This forum is for the discussion of bonsai related topics. It is not for posting any political or religious materials. I certainly have my opinions as I’m sure most others do and would love to discuss/debate them but as said and as per forum rules, this is not the proper place to air them out. With all due respect and please take no offense but, I’m afraid that this thread will have to be closed. Thank you for your most anticipated understanding in my decision upon this matter. ~Phil
