I think one of the longest threads we had going at one time on BCO was the one Lua started when she had first purchased the now dearly departed George! I still remember telling her how to unpack it when she received it so as not to cause too much of a mess and then hearing how the top was broken off when it was shipped to her. I believe after that the thread went on for about 10 pages!

Yes Phil ..... I remember that eventful thread very well! And I remember the day I took delivery of dear old George too! And your advise on how to catch and get rid of the slugs that were appearing on the rim of George's pot after each watering!!

Yes that thread was a lot of fun....... and not as embarrassing as the thread we started quite innocently about "something or other" but then digressed into something hysterically funny due to a language misunderstanding between us Brits and you Yanks, and our different interpretation of the word "chuffed" !!! Gosh that was funny!

Yes Scottie did tell me about the demise of your Serissa, and I was sorry to hear that because you had looked after it quite well and came through a couple of near misses before.

Somehow my Molly has survived and it's still doing well after 3 years, chucking out flowers all the time. However I don't seem to be able to propagate it and make the cuttings survive in soil. I take them from the root and I placed them in water. The cuttings produce fine white roots while they are in water (I leave them in there for a few months) but as soon as I transfer them into soil (either pure Akadama or organic soil) they just shrivel up and die after a few days. It's a shame because I have not been able to find another Serissa like Molly anywhere here in Europe (Japanese Serissa var. "Pink Princess").

Oh yes, I remember that well but I also recall another word I used which I'll refrain from mentioning again albeit the word is quite innocent in its meaning on this side of the pond! As Churchill once said; "Two countries separated by a common language".............well,to a certain point!
