Don't use Turface for kitty litter, either.
I've gone to a coarser mix across the board, so don't use Turface particles that are smaller than 2 mm for anything except seeds, cuttings, and my smallest or most water-loving trees. This means I have a good deal of waste from a typical bag.
So Mr. Brilliance decided to try using Turface, 1-2 mm size, as cat litter. I figured it might help household expenses a wee, since we have three cats at present. It doesn't work. The cats use it readily, and it absorbs liquid and covers scat OK. But it doesn't trap odors. Oh, well. That's what experiments are for.
