Meehan's miniatures
Hi guys,
Has anyone ordered from them? I have, a couple of times, and have not been disappointed. I have not ordered "finished" trees, just pre-bonai or starters. Reasonably priced! Meehan's Miniatures-Bonsai Starters Rare and Miniature Plant Material and Wholesale Bonsai Plants Cheryl |

Hi Barry,
You are probably right. Your state and several others have strict laws as to what kind of trees and plant life that they allow into their areas. Are you still hanging around the big trees in the summer? Cheryl |

Meehan's is the only vendor (so far, anyway,) from which I will buy a pre-bonsai without seeing it directly, "in person," first.

This is an old thread, but the name caught my attention. I love Meehan's - the one of the most popular vendors at the Mid-America shows in Chicago. They always have interesting new tropical species. I've never been to their main greenhouse - its in MD - but I hope to get there some day.

ordered from them lately?
Quote:
. If you are getting starters you have to get ~4 or more to reach $25. If your order total is less than $25 they just add $5 Reasonable shipping at $7.95. ![]() They look worth a try. If you've ordered from them recently please post. |

Mage, I haven't bought from them in a while, but that's only because we're watching pennies extra-close while I find a new job.
You might consider going to the Mid-America Show in Chicago in August. Meehan's are there every year, they have a wider selection available, and you pay no shipping. If you know you're going, you can ask them to include a certain size of a certain species and bring it along. I've done that, and they held it for me. In fact, I plan to do it again this year: I want a gallon-size Acer campestre if they have one. (I think tho, that if you ask that and they bring one for you, you're honor-bound to buy it unless it's really a dog! But then, I've never been dissatisfied with trees I've bought from them without seeing them first.) There's always a fantastic bonsai display at the Mid-America, some fine demos and workshops, and there's no admission fee to the show itself. We consider it worth the price of an overnite hotel.
