candy-striped leafhopper
I was out looking at my trees today and noticed a strange bug on my elm. This bug was pink and teal stripped and i have identified it as a candy-striped leafhopper.
I have not been able to find much if any information on what this bug might do to my trees or the best ways to get rid of em. What I have been able to find says they have piercing mouthparts and attach the underside of leaves. If anyone has any advice on how to handle this bug or similar bugs i would appreciate it. |

I recognize the beastie! We have them here in Indiana too.
I would spray with neem oil, or use a systemic, if they're at all numerous. If it's just one or two, squish 'em!
