Elm fungus - best fungicide?
Hi guys. It's just past mid summer here in Oz, and I have a corky bark elm which started to lose vigor a month or so ago. Then started to develop little black spots on leaves. The leaves started yellowing soon after, and then dropping off. Still has about 2/3 canopy, but looks Unhealthy. Most new buds turn black from the tip, and then get brittle and drop off. I tried treating with insecticide (on advice of another bonsai enthusiast), but to no avail. Now my chinese elm has just started to show similar symptoms. Has had poor vigor for 3 weeks or so, and a couple of telltale black spots have just started to appear. Some leaves have started to yellow.
Another bonsai enthusiast suggested it may be a fungus, and I should treat with a fungicide. My questions to you all is: *any of you guys had this stuff? *can I use any fungicide to treat a bonsai? should I be looking for anything in particular?
