I might have left it alone for another year. Since you dug it up, you will need to continue to baby it for another year or two. I find alot of trees, post collection or transplant, will dedicate most of their yearly growing toward re-establishing a root system. Once the roots are there, the top takes off and that's when you can start your styling. Any recent pics?

Dave, I'm sure you're right. I put it through the wringer trying to get all of the termites out of it. It is starting to lengthen some of the little branchlets and they have that fresh yellow-green color. What I don't have are many new buds. But I think if I follow what the study group is doing
(but not too aggressively), I may be able to get more buds to break. I'm adding a couple of recent pix. Vic |
