Diseased japanese maple in pots

Hi

I have a couple of Japanese Maples in pots which aren't lookin gtoo good at the moment.
I am from Sydney Australia and in the middle of summer.
There has been alot of rain at the moment for this time of year and the maples are outside on the balcony.
Most years they do ok but this year there appears to be something wrong with the leaves.
I'm not sure if they're waterlogged or have a mineral deficiency or maybe a fungus.
I would like some help as to how to fix the problem.
The leaves look to be misshapen and curled with black tips.
I have included some pictures to have a look at.

Would appreciate any help to get them healthy again.

Thanks

Jimi

Welcome to the forum, Jimi.

I sometimes see something very similar on my Japanese maples during a rainy summer. I think it's a fungus, and from what I've seen so far, it doesn't seem to do the trees much harm. However, if someone with more specific information weighs in, I will defer to him/her.

Take it to your local bonsai club, or a local nurseryman. They should be able to tell you more, and they know your growing conditions.
