larch forest group

I found these larch at a nursery. They were eliminating alot of stock and gave them to me for a great deal...I think. ($5 ea.).

I was thinking they would make an interesting forest group. Any suggestions on timing, container, etc would be appreciated!

Thanks...

Timing -- next spring.

One thing you want in a forest is a variation in the the sizes of the trees, as would occur in nature. From what I can see in the picture, there's not that much variation among your trees. Or is that maybe just the picture?

Thanks for the reply treebeard...

It actually is the picture. I picked them out of the group that they were selling for their variety of sizes. The smallest is 26", next around 28, up to about 36". Their was also one that was slanting...but i'm thinking that may have been a mistake...and plan on picking up one more small.
Any suggestions on a container for spring?

Thanks...

Forests are usually planted in something wide and shallow, or on a slab. Slab plantings can look very cool!
