identifying my new bonsai?

hello and thank you in advance

my friend bought me a beautiful bonsai yesterday as a gift and unfortunately she didn't ask the seller what species it was. therefore i would be very grateful if someone could identify it for me.
ive attacthed three photos of my new bonsai and i hope they are clear enough. the leaves are small with white rimmed edges. my friend did say that the seller assured her that the bonsai randomly sprouts white flowers. this led me to think it's a serissa foetida but i would like someone to clarify that.

again thank you!

Sophia

Most definitely a Serissa. I should know, I've managed to kill my share of them!

Yep, serissa. Also called "Tree of a Thousand Stars." You'll find out why when it blooms.

You've already been told it's a serissa, variegated variety. It's one of my wife's favorites, because of the blooms.

Are you keeping it indoors? If so, it needs to be in a south-facing window, especially at your latitude, or else you need to give it supplemental light. Better yet would be a secure position outside where it gets at least half-day sun.

Never trust your eyes to tell you if a room is well enough lit for plants' health. Human eyes are too good, too adaptable, to make good light-meters for plants.

I keep mine outside from april/may up until oct/nov;
They're brimming with health and growing profusely.
(Or as Scott says: They act like a weed)

I just keep an eye on the weather report:
In case of overnight frost (april or november),
they go back inside, in an unheated garage window.

Mine goes through phases where the plant is covered with blooms at times, and hardly any flowers at others. However, there could be a few flowers at any time. I haven't noticed (or been looking for) any relationship to time of year/season.
