Francois Jeker is well known here in Europe. His classes are very good. Some bonsaiists are good but can't explain things well. He has thought a lot about the design of trees and is good at transmitting that. Recently he has written a book on working dead wood which I like very much but I am not sure whether it has been translated into English yet. There are two other books of him on the design of bonsai which they used to have on offer at stone lantern and which I found very interesting as I felt that his approach was rather different from other bonsai books. (And if you get to meet him: ask him to "sign" the book for you and chances are that he will draw you a pic (nearly
