Yes, like Shaggy said: maples are outdooor trees. You can take them indoors for decoration for a couple of days but like other trees from temperate climates they need the changes in temperature you get with the seasons to stay healthy. The plants we keep as "house plants" are plants from tropical which need it to be warm all year round.
@ shaggy: wow, more than 100 maples I am green with envy. I guess I only have 20-25 different varieties (thinking to getting a few more but slowly space is getting tight). Most of these are still young plants though growing in my fathers garden. Due to space I tend have mostly just one tree of each variety. Which varietes do you have?
