dwarf syzigium
tiny trev are their nick name here in the australian nurseries;
used for low border hedging. has the same flower sprays and berries the larger one does. very small leaves and close internodes. can get very dense in growth. the 2 special things i like about this shrub 1) it lends itself perfectly from mame to shohin size and 2) the colour and texture of its trunk and ability to get knarly in the not to distant future.
oh did i forget to tell you just how flexible it is for bending not easy to set though. its roots are an issue and will have to checkm out this spring. they tend to grow 2 really thick roots in their nursery pots hopefully i might have some decent results soon. these are 2 trees i started exactly 3 years ago(when i didnt know zip) from root bound nursery stock not dissimilar to this one. $8.95 cheap as chips and they are proving to be alot of fun. so much that i recently got a couple more and will post their entire journey from the start here at BC. for now i hope you enjoy these 2. i feel their another 2-3 yrs away from showable.
