I lost 2 Ficus Retusa and it was entirely my fault. I had to go away for a few days and although I watered them a lot before I left, I guess it was not enough and perhaps I did not take good care of them as soon as I came back.
One was your run of the mill ficus retusa I bought from eBay 2 years ago, it was small and cute but nothing to write home about. The other one on the other I am truly sorry about because it was the last remaining cutting I took from "George" (some of you may remember George the giant banyan ficus I had 3 years ago) before I sent him off to uncle Prowler. It was doing quite well until I killed it through neglet.
I also had 3 "near misses" with a Ficus Benjamina, a Cotoneaster and my baby Pommegranate. They lost all their leaves, but luckily they recovered and are doing very well now.
Luckily Molly, my prized Japanese Serissa, came through the winter with no problems and has already flowered.
So all in all, not a bad winter and the casualties were all down to my stupidity really.
