This tree has been outside all winter nestled up close to the house semi protected from weather. I've watched it closely all winter long and today I had noticed that only on a few buds I could just start to see the beginnings of the shaving brushes. By no means are they all the way open. I chopped and repotted this one last year after purchase with the leaves in full shaving brush form and it has done great. I guess they are just resilient in my climate.
Prowler, the only reason I was confused was when you jumped to saying when you like to chop. I understand they have a lot to contend with in regards to the weather. I'm confident with my repotting skills. I have only lost one tree so far due to repotting and that was because it was early summer and I removed way too many roots. I knew that one would die as well. It was my sorry attempt to enter the styling contest.
Thanks for the input guys.
