I've been pulling my trees out of their winter habitat back behind the garage for the past several days, and they all came through just fine--even the Japanese maple. In fact the evergreens--two procumbens, a San Jose juniper, two Scots pines and a Japanese black pine--look pumped up and ready to go.
Two weeks ago all the pots were still frozen solid under the mulch. St. Pats day is my traditional unmulching day, and it looks like things are right on schedule this year. A chilly 40 degrees today with an inch of rain.
Hellooooo spring!
