Yes, Boondock, I tried cuttings in the Spring and it was a success with small branches (a few mm).
Last summer, I prepared a big lonicera which is in my garden to uproot it in the spring, so I cut it back hard as to make it backbud before the end of the season, and I planted rather large cuttings (as thick as my thumb) just for a try; that was in August.
To my surprise, apparently they have all taken root (I sort of protected them this winter by putting outside a window of my garage).
So now I would say that the best period to take larger cuttings from lonicera is in late summer.

They're beginning to put new leaves, I'll wait until the risk of frost is over before putting them in separate pots.
